Houdini’s Room Escape filled the room with locked boxes, paper clues, and paper puzzles. ➖ The gameplay felt bolted on amidst the old furniture and solid set pieces. We especially enjoyed the thematic embellishment to the TV monitor hinting. ➕ The period-esque parlor with heavy wooden furniture and a deep red hue was a comfortable setting. Another puzzle required outside knowledge, without which this puzzle could only be solved with substantial hinting. One in particular felt like a throwaway that players will see immediately or never see, dropped in entirely without clue structure. ➖ Some of the puzzles could have benefited from additional cluing. It pleasantly rolled along, from puzzle to puzzle, with plenty for everyone to work on. ➕ Game Room offered a lot of puzzle content in an approachable way. For example, one of the best places to grab a quick snack before hitting a club with your date is Gomez. The only difference is that these aren’t your typical restaurants. I know, I know, I said dinners are boring in the beginning. Who isn’t hanging out in OTR? Between the bars, restaurants and clubs, there is something to do. Even if the comedy act is lame, you can still get a few good drinks and a meal.īe sure to keep an eye for amateur nights! This is a great date opportunity because you get to work together to find a way out of the room so you’re constantly working with each other. Soon after, I noticed that Cincinnati caught on to the trend. I remember the first time I did one was in Nashville, Tennessee. In Cincinnati, we have two places to rock climb:Įscape rooms kind of came out of nowhere. While you’re on the wall, you can find time to talk while conquering the rock wall. Rock climbing allows you and your date to try something new and you get do something active. Raise your dating life a level-literally. After careful consideration, this is the list that I’ve compiled. That’s why I made it my goal this year to find more exciting dating opportunities. After that, you can go to a movie and not talk at all. That’s when you go to some boring restaurant with decent food and stare at each other for an hour trying to figure out something to talk about. Yeah, you have the stereotypical dinner and movie. Going on dates is fun whether it’s someone you just met or someone you’ve been with for a long time. When it gets closer to the weekend, you might find your partner asking, “What do you want to do?”
